I was messing around with a mini cut autograph card in the design of 1985 Topps football. Again, I wanted to use the hundreds of business cards I have to do with whatever I want. I’ve always loved making cut autograph cards. Of course how many cut soccer autographs are there out there that I can do. Still though, I really like how this looks and at a minimum I will make the Pele one.
What do you think about it. I still have to come up with a back.
While sleeping overnight, I had a dream about mini cards. About a year ago, I got a 500 ct. of business cards that had an error on it. My supervisor told me to just throw it out. Being the pack rat I am I just couldn’t do it, so I took it home and have been trying to figure out what to do with them. At first I was going to just do some kind of mini cut autograph (which I might still do).
However I was thinking of the through the mail autograph cards I was doing and and I thought why not shrink them. Now I can’t do a TTM mini because there would just be no place to sign. So I designed a 3″x2″ card without the TTM strip.
Here is the original:
Here is the mini:
So the top one is the size of a regular card, but the bottom one was designated for a business card. I am going to print this out tomorrow so that you can see the difference.
I really wanted to do some historical cards. The autograph is a replicate since a real one would cost a mint! I changed up the back a bit to do a little history lesson. What do you think?
This set continues to impress. The Fire logo looks great on the front and back. No problems really while making this card other than trying to find him in a Fire jersey while being the only person in the photo. There is actually another person in this photo but thanks to cropping, the are gone. This weekend is shaping up to be a big card making weekend, with I think 9 cards ready for printing.
Shipp has become a spark plug for the Fire. He has netted 6 goals and 5 assists in only 19 total games (17 started). He is yet another great foundation block for this Fire team.
I’m still trying to figure out what colors work best with these cards. I’ve done green blue and now orange. I couldn’t go blue with this one, as it would interfere with his jersey. Other than that small issue, this version of the Archives Soccer set looks great. I will have to come up with a fourth version soon. Also I will need to do a checklist at some point. I’m thinking make each 14 card section a checklist in it’s own style.
As for Dominic Dwyer, he is killing it for KC. He has 14 goals and an assist in 19 games started. He may not have been a starter at the beginning of the season but he’s one of the most important players on the team right now.
